Using the patented grommet based icotek cable transit systems, a large number of pre-terminated cables (up to 65 mm in diameter) and cables without connectors (up to 75 mm in diameter) can be quickly routed into enclosures, control panels or machines and be sealed with up to IP66/UL type 4X* rated ingress protection (certified according to EN 60529/UL50-E). In addition, the cable transits serve as strain reliefs on the cable (acc. to EN 62444). Info Guide – Everything You Need to Know About Split Cable Transit Systems

The icotek split cable transit systems enable the transit of a large number of connectorised cables or complete cable harnesses in a small area. In contrast to conventional cable glands the connector doesn’t have to be cut off the cable in advance and be re-connected afterwards. Thus, the cable manufacturer's warranty remains and you save a lot of assembly time. But also electrical, pneumatic or hydraulic lines without connectors as well as corrugated conduits and hoses can be easily routed, sealed and strain relieved using split cable entry systems.

 

icotek Cable Transit Systems – Completely Splittable, High Cable Density

The icotek cable transit system is completely split. Thus, a quick and easy assembly is possible. The preterminated cable is placed into the » split grommet which is set into one of the cable transit frame’s compartments. The grommet is now securely fixed inside the frame and can’t fall out. Due to the fine gradation of the cable diameters, there is an excellent adaptation of the grommet to the inserted cable or hose. Once the lid is affixed to the base frame, it is compressed and tightly sealed. The high compression pressure ensures strain relief according to EN 62444 and certified sealing rates up to IP66 (acc. to EN 60529) and UL Type 4X* (acc. to UL 50E).

Another benefit is the high cable density of the cable transit systems that enable a space-saving assembly. For example, when using multiple grommets with some specific frame sizes, up to 120 lines can be routed in an area of 15 × 15 cm.

Easy Assembly of the Cable Transit Systems

The cable transit systems are either screw mounted or simply snapped into a pre-mounted snap frame. The cable transit systems are available in many different sizes which are mostly based on standard cut-outs of industrial multi-pin heavy duty connectors. Large Variety of Cable Transit Systems

The different model ranges of the icotek split cable transit systems offer various application possibilities:

  • For cable routing (up to 35 mm in diameter) in extreme areas the » cable transit system KEL-ER offers high protection ratings IP66/UL Type 4X*. Available in 8 different sizes.
  • Similarly, icotek offers the » cable transit system KEL-U in the same sizes, with protection rating IP54/UL type 12.
  • The centrally split » cable transit system KEL is an icotek classic (protection ratings IP54/UL type 12) which, due to its extensions, offers the highest cable density. Cables and hoses with diameters up to 35 mm can be routed.
  • The » cable transit systems KEL-FA, » KEL-QUICK and » KEL-QTA (protection rating IP54) impress with the possibility of quick and consistently tool-less installation. Available in many different sizes.

Well Tested & Certified

Approvals and standards such as flame class UL 94-V0, IP and UL rated ingress protection, UL recognized, DNV, RINA, EN 45545-2 and ECOLAB detergent resistance enable icotek cable transit systems to be real alternatives to conventional cable glands.
